Hi Fangs back and I am hitting off with a discusion about Top Cow's Witchblade. First a bit of history about Top Cow especially Witchblade and me. Now I'm been devoted Top Cow reader but only because of Witchblade and metal bikini., I remember the day when I bought my first Witchblade issue in 2001. I am a feminist, so adore strong, female heroines as long they their realistic, (I hate mary sue I am all powerful type) so the owner of my comic bookstore, mentioned I should try Witchblade. Although was first put off by the cover a woman in a metal bikini but then again Princess Leia also wore one in ROTJ, read it and in one word was hooked. Those days my friends couldn't understand why I, a 11 year old girl bought a comic about a girl in a magical gauntlet, metal bikini-armor thingie. They still don't understand and now 8 years later I still haven't succeed getting one of them to read the comic. But one of them does read the darkness now.
Now the War of the Witchblades Arc has officially, Comic Book sources had interesting article about this arc.
| The “War of the Witchblades” arc will reintroduce Sara’s sister Julie, who has been in prison for the entirety of Marz’s run on the book. “The curator character will also play a fairly large part in the ‘War of the Witchblades,’ and we’ll be revealing stuff about him and his background that we haven’t even hinted at previously,” Marz confirmed. The Witchblade, The Darkness and The Angelus have long been the three pillars of the Top Cow Universe, and while Jackie Estacado does not play a part in the “War of the Witchblades,” The Angelus does put in an appearance. “The Angelus is without a host at the moment, that’s still something that’s kind of hanging over from the ‘Broken Trinity’ storyline,” Marz explained. However, the writer confirmed, that situation will be resolved by the end of this upcoming arc. More importantly, come the end of “War of the Witchblades,” there will, once again, be only one Witchblade bearer. Marz wouldn’t say which of the wielders would be left standing, but he did reveal that “there will be some fairly final ramifications in the storyline,” and that after the conclusion in issue #130, only one of the characters would be involved with the book going forward. |
Now Sara has been the main character of witchblade since the nineties but on the other hand Dani is becoming a promising character, not to mention Dani was the one who delivered Hope (Sara's daughter with Jackie Estacado). Also I've got the feeling that Dani's dance student is gonna become the new Angelus (I really miss Celestine), but then again a friend of mine predicts Dani is ther new Angelus. And finally we're gonna find out something about the mysterious Curator.
| While “War of the Witchblades” brings with it its share of finality, it also represents a new beginning for the book. “We’ve been building up to this for a couple years now, and this is going to be a big story,” Marz said. “There will be a sense of conclusion to this, but there will also be a sense of a new beginning, because this just sets the stage for any number of stories that we’re going to tell afterward. |
Another part of the article (which you see) that has me doubt Sara survival, ever since the introduction of Dani. I certainly don't hope she dies, I mean what's gonna happen to Hope cause I can't see her father raise her nor her mother's boyfriend.
